Help with Rewrite options

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Me... again 🙂

I have asked the question about rewrite rules before but this one is a bit different this time.

At the moment my singe ad url looks like this:

And my category archive url looks like this:

hidden link

I want to remove /listing/ and /listing_cat/, is this possible with the built rewrite options?

It's possible to change the "listing" and "listing_cat" URL slugs to something else, but Toolset does not offer the ability to remove those completely from the URL. Standard WordPress URL structures depend on these slugs to know which URLs are posts and which URLs are archives. Removing them would require some complex URL rewrite logic that falls outside the scope of the support we provide here in the forums.
