[Resolved] Free Ads Expire after couple of hours?

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
How to set post expiration settings with CRED form

Solution:
When you edit your CRED form, You will see the section:

"Expiration date:" from where you can setup your post expiration settings.

If you do not want to expire the date - you should just uncheck the checkbox "Set expiration date for post created or edited by this form" and save your CRED form.

You can find proposed solution, in this case, with the following reply:

I uploaded a FREE Ad to the Classifieds reference site.
I was very happy with the result.
Worked almost perfectly.

HOWEVER, a little later I got this email (actually TWO identical emails) to my "test customer" email account.

Dear %%CUSTOMER_DISPLAYNAME%%,

The listing Lamborghini Aventador S, you have submitted to the Toolset Classifieds site will expire in February 28, 2018.

Best Regards,

the Toolset Classifieds Team

There doesn't appear to be any way to set the expiration time for free ads.
In fact on the Dashboard the option "Settings for Post Expiration Date : Automatic Expire Date for this post" is set as UNCHECKED.

I am running the Classifieds Reference site in WPML mode.

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Well - I need to review your site settings.

Could you please tell me using which CRED form user submitted the ad?

*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***
I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.

I would additionally need your permission to de- and re-activate Plugins and the Theme, and to change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is really important. If you agree to this, please use the form fields I have enabled below to provide temporary access details (wp-admin and FTP).

I have set the next reply to private which means only you and I have access to it.

This is only a test site so go ahead and do whatever you need to find the answers.
You have my permission to deactivate plugins etc.

I would like to know do you want to expire the free ad after certain days / weeks such that the ad posted by user, the status of ad become draft after certain days/weeks?

#620414

Actually we don't want the ads to expire.
BUT I would really like to know how to set that option.
Is there a dashboard configuration or is it hard coded somewhere?

When you edit your CRED form to add new ads:
=> hidden link

You will see the section "Expiration date:" from where you can setup your post expiration settings. If you do not want to expire the date - you should just uncheck the checkbox "Set expiration date for post created or edited by this form" and save your CRED form.
