Hi guys

I'm playing with views 'order by' for an idea for a site. The random order option is almost what I need, but what I would like is that once someone has loaded the view they get the same order for 24 hours. So:

1. A visitor goes to the page showing the view, which lists items in a random order
2. For that day they then get the same order displaying
3. But if they revisit the site the next day a new order displays

I know it might be a bit of a long shot, but is there any way to achieve that?

Thanks for your help, Emily

Dear Emily,

You can try wordpress build-in cache API Transients, for example similar thread:

Hi Luoy

Thanks for your reply, that definitely sounds promising. I need to spend a bit of time looking at it.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, it's very much appreciated.

Cheers, Emily
