[Resolved] First image in slider showing twice

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The issue here is that the user has a slide that was created using our Views plugin but the first slide is being displayed twice.

Solution:

In this case it was a conflict between the Post Type Order plugin and views.

What I would recommend if you're experiencing a similar issue is to check your plugins as one of them might be causing a conflict.

I am trying to:

Show a slider with child post type images.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:

hidden link

I expected to see:

Each image is shown in turn.

Instead, I got:

At the start of the loop the first image fades to itself before carrying on to the second image. After that all is OK.

Hi Houfton,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

This might be an issue with the slider itself.

Would you mind recreating the slider completely and let me know if you are still experiencing this same issue.

Thanks,
Shane

Thanks again Shane.
I tried recreating it but it does not seem to help. One thing I have found is it works better with an Artwork that has more than 2 Detail View children. So I added a random third image here hidden link and it seems to work. Unfortunately most Artworks have 2 children.
I am attaching screenshots of the post types, view and layout it is in in case you can see something I am doing wrong.

Hi Houfton,

Your website is a bit slow and this could be causing the issue.

I also noted that you are running php 5.3 which is below our minimum recommended php version as well as for wordpress.

What I recommend is that you update to at least version 5.6 of php to maintain compatibility as this could also be the cause of the issue.

Please try this and let me know if the issue still remains and we can move on from there.
Thanks,
Shane

Thank you for looking at this. I tried upgrading the site to PHP 7.0.6 but that did not seem to help and caused problems with the parametric slider View. I have downgraded to 5.6.21 but the problem persists. There are pagination dots now under the slideshow which show that the first image reappears as the second image and the second image then becomes the first (if that makes any sense).

Hi Houfton,

Would you mind if I took a duplicator package from your website for further testing ?

Please let me know.
Thanks,
Shane

Hi Houfton,

I did a short test by disabling all the non-toolset plugins and checking to see if the issue remains.

The issue is actually being caused by the post order plugin.

Thanks,
Shane

Shane. Thank you for working that out. I guess I will have to find some other way of re-ordering posts.
