Is it possible to create a view with parametric search that pre-filters by region?
I.e if you are in the US it pre-filters to a list of US addresses. If you are in the UK in pre-filters to a list of UK address. You can then choose to switch between the two - thanks
Thank you for contacting Toolset support, I'd be delighted to assist!
This could be accomplished in several ways. The most evident one would be to add a new Custom Taxonomy for Region and assign posts of your CPT to it, then site visitors could filter based on this Taxonomy "Region".

As each post could have only one region, I'd recommend hierarchical Taxonomy type, with the added bonus that you could add "sub-Regions" as children of the taxonomy.
You could also just use the Toolset Maps plugin: https://toolset.com/2015/11/toolset-google-maps-released-beta/
Hi Ross thanks for your response
Actually what I meant is that the view pre-filters by region. So if I am in America it automatically shows all the posts that I have tagged as US (or uses some sort of geoloaction) without interaction from the visitor. They can then use a select filter to change the region to UK for example and see all the posts tagged as UK.
I understand this is an advanced feature but was wondering if it is possible - maybe with some custom dev. We will also be using the WPML plugin which I understand filters by region if that makes a difference (i think it is developed by you guys?)
Howdy Stewart!
We are the same folks who created WPML - you hit that on the head! Technically it would be possible with much custom development and hooking into the WPML geolocator class. I can't say that I'd be able to write the code for you, but we do have a curated list of Toolset consultants: https://toolset.com/consultant/
It sounds like an exciting project, I wish you the best of luck with this feature!
Thanks Ross - ill bear them in mind 🙂
