Problem:
Dynamically Populate VC background with custom field.

Solution:
Thank you for contacting our support forum.

Unfortunately no since visual composer requires that you select an image from the get go.

The VC team may have a solution for this so I would recommend contacting their support forum for help

I'm quite new to Toolset & building a content template using Visual Composer (and UNCODE theme). I'd like a full-width header using the featured image for the custom post.

The issue I'm encountering is VC wants to select a specific image from the media library instead of allowing me to use the custom field instead.

The only workaround I can figure out is:
- select background image using VC
- disable editing with Visual Composer
- use the "Fields and Values" button on the WYSIWYG editor
- find the ID of the media inserted into the HTML with VC and clear it
- select Featured Image then specify to just output post's ID in place of the previous ID from VC

This works OK, but if I need to switch back to editing with VC it breaks the template as the value for the background image is a custom field tag instead of just a numeric ID. So I need to repeat the steps above every time I make an edit to the template.

Just wondering if there's an easier way to dynamically display a background image for a VC row in a content template?

Thanks!
