I am trying to design a layout with Fusion Builder for a custom content type I created. When I go to Layouts to design the content, Fusion Builder is not available. All I can control is how the custom content is displayed using Layouts. But I need access to the normal page builder so I can control the specific sidebar that is used on the page along with other settings not available in the Layout editor.

How can I customize how my content is displayed in a single listing (layout) and control my sidebar on the page and other options?

Hi Kyle

There isn't currently any integration between Toolset and the Fusion Builder plugin, it is currently an either/or proposition when it comes to which page builder to use when editing pages and posts, and Fusion Builder isn't available when designing templates.

I'm only superficially familiar with Fusion Builder and it's not clear to me how you use it for setting sidebars. But if you are talking about using the Avada theme and the Fusion Page Options which then appear on pages and posts, there is something in the pipeline which will help.

We are in the testing stages of an update to Layouts which will allow you to manipulate theme options from Template Layouts and Archive Layouts.

So, if your theme options allow you to choose between full-width and left or right sidebar on a page, you will also be able to set those options from your Layout for a template for single custom posts, for example.

This programme relies on the cooperation of theme authors to describe their theme options in a JSON file, and we will begin with a modest number of themes, which should include Avada.

We'll be publishing news on this update soon. I can't say when exactly, but it nearly made it into Layouts 2.0.2 before hitting some snags in testing, so I don't anticipate it being too long.
