In my review site I have a CRED form to submit book review posts. One of the custom fields of the review post is the review date.

The picker is slow to react, but it's okay.

When an admin level user fills in a review the date picker works fine. The problem is when a subscriber level user tries to select a date nothing happens.

I have replicated this problem on both my computers, on both firefox and chrome and via my phone chrome browser. The problem is only with subscribers.

I have changed my views to just display the post date not the users selected review date, and make the field not-necessary for submission, so that I can proceed to testing with a closed group of users.

I have however left the field on the CRED form, so that a Toolset tech support can go and have a look. My apologies, you'll need to register and login, then proceed to a book, find the review link and have a go.

It could just be me being daft again, but I hope you can help me work this out. It will eat away at my brain until I know why.

Thanks

Jeff

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

I created test account on your site and try to debug the issue and I found that when you try to select date it's displaying following javascript error on your browser console.

SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data

To minimize the cause of the issue:
Could you please try to resolve your issue by deactivating all third-party plugins as well as with the default theme to check for any possible conflicts with any of the plugins or themes?

#404580

All third party plugins or just non-toolset related plugins?

try to check with only Toolset plugins and default theme? if it works, they try to activate other plugins one by one to find the cause of conflict.

I have a couple of test users submitting content at the moment. I will do this this evening (Shanghai Time) and get back to you, thanks Minesh.

Ok- great. Please let me know how it goes.

I changed all my users to contributors and the json error is no longer happening, and the date picker seems to be working again.

I changed back to subscriber and the error returns and the date pickers are not working again.

My problem is resolved, I need my users to all be contributors, but something is still amiss.

I will be deactivating my plugins anyway for a different support thread, so I will post back here with the results anyway.

I don't know what to say.

I turned off all plugins and reverted to 2016 theme, and the error wasn't happening. However when I turned them back on, and used a subscriber account sometimes the picker would work, and sometimes it wouldn't.

Sometimes the json error is there and sometimes it's not. It seems perfectly fine when users are contributors so I'm sticking with that.

I am a little confused now, however.
