Tell us what you are trying to do?

condensed answer: use data of works as products!
condensed problem description: I would like to use the data entered for works also in products (works = products)

the picture "fieldgroup work and product.jpg" shows the 2 groups of fields I made for works and products (one having data more as works the other more as product).
I used both groups very well for the works!

how can I tel the system that my works ARE also products.

if available please indicate where I can find documentation for that "problem"

how can I do the same for the products?

Is there a similar example that we can see?

What is the link to your site?

hi Waqar

Looking further into my "problem" work <-> product I guess I was wrong supposing that "product" was a quality you could give to a "work".

Anyway I really would like to have an answer to that question to see the state of interweavement between web and shop (¿ am I right to equalize that to "toolset" and "wordpress"?)

Looking now closer to "shop" (I have neglected until now) I found : "https://toolset.com/2021/04/toolset-blocks-1-5-custom-woocommerce-product-and-shop-pages/".

having just a quick look I am asking myself if the "product" (from wp) could be used/replace the "work" (toolset <- custom type).

question: does the "product" offer now similar/same possibilities as "work" in web but/and adding the shop-faculties?

I do only need a small part of the selling faculties wp offers as at the end selling a piece of art almost always needs peer to peer interaction.

thaks for zour apreciated answer

best

Ed.

Hi Ed,

Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.

When the WooCommerce plugin is activated it registers its own post type 'Products'.

If your goal with the 'Works' post type was to create a catalog of buyable or non-buyable artwork items, the 'Product' post type can be used in its place too and you don't need this separate post type 'Works'.

If for some reason you need each artwork to have two separate but connected entities, in the form of 1 'Work' post and 1 'Product' post, then you can create a one-to-one relationship between these two post types.

I hope this helps and please let me know if you need further assistance.

regards,
Waqar

Hi again

Just please confirm that "products" today are able to do/vehicular, on top of their "stuff", the same than my custom type "work" can do and we may close this thread.

Best
Ed.
