Custom Field Permalink

This support ticket is created 11 years ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Hello,

We reuse 100% of the WordPress-provided permalink structure. The fact is that WordPress adds the custom post type or custom taxonomy slug to the URL by default and their Rewrite API is very restricted to what could be used instead.

We receive a number of requests to workaround that (even though WordPress itself doesn't support it naturally yet) but we are still exploring the available 'hacks' for that. There are several permalink-related plugins in the WordPress.org repository, but I haven't yet found a really useful one for what you both need.
