Tell us what you are trying to do?
I want to create forms and search filters using taxonomies

for example i have checkboxes
CATEGORY 1
CATEGORY 2
CATEGORY 3
CATEGORY 4
CATEGORY 5

lets say CATEGORY 1 is checked....
I want Subcategories to open

CATEGORY 1 (checked)
-> subcategory 1
-> subcategory 2
-> subcategory 3

then subcategory 3 is checked, this opens subsubcategories

CATEGORY 1 (checked)
-> subcategory 1
-> subcategory 2
-> subcategory 3 (checked)
-->> subsubcategory 1
-->> subsubcategory 2
-->> subsubcategory 3

shall i create custom Taxonomies including the sub and subsubcategories?

or

is it better to build forms and search filters with every category by itself...
CATEGORIES ... is one new standalone TAXONOMY
->subcategories is one new standalone TAXONOMY
-->>subsubcategories is one new standalone TAXONOMY
not building sub and subsub in one custom Taxonomy

Is there any documentation that you are following?

no
Is there a similar example that we can see?

yes here
hidden link

What is the link to your site?

Hi Eva,

Thank you for getting in touch.

Unfortunately no this is not possible to do. It is essentially still 1 taxonomy even if there are child terms.

This would require a complete set of custom code to achieve.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Eva,

Its not possible to conditionally display the child terms.

Meaning you won't be able to select the parent term and then have the child term displayed for you to select.

Thanks,
Shane
