We had created a custom field that is a text option however have found that there is only three options being used.

Is it possible to change the custom field from a text field to a dropdown selection and keep the current value without having to go back and change the selections already made?

We are just trying to avoid having to go back and edit 706 instances of this custom field being used.

Thank you for your help!

There's not a way to change a single line text field to a select field from wp-admin. It requires manual database manipulation. I don't recommend this unless you know what you're doing, and the potential disasters you can cause by making manual database changes. You can completely crash your site and cause major problems.
