Hi!

Is there a way to assign specific custom post types to a post group automatically?
I've got custom post types which are for inner use only, so assignment to specific post group would be nice just to manage permissions in future.

Hi there

There is no such option within Access and no API hooks for you to set this up programmatically.

But I'm not sure how necessary it is.

With Access you set permissions at the level of post types, and all posts of that type inherit those permission rules.

Post Groups are a way to override the post-type-level settings for individual posts.

But you want all posts of a given post type to have the same permission, which means you should set up the permissions for that type as a whole (which may match the permissions you set up for some post group, but are independent of them).

Thanks! I missed the fact that post groups are meant to override post-type-level settings.
