I am trying to allow a user to publish posts, without being able to read other user's posts.
I visited the Access admin page.
When I click "Publish", I am forced to also check "Read", which gives access to all posts to the user.
What should I do? There is no real reason why publishing is tied to reading posts from other users. As long as a user can read his own post, it should be sufficient.
Hello,
Thank you for contacting support forum.
There is no possibility to allow user publish posts of the other users without reading permission. A user without reading privilege can't verify post's content, so what is a point of giving him access to publishing feature.
Can you attach a screen with "access settings"? Perhaps, I don't understand correctly your needs.
Please let me know if you have further questions regarding the issue mentioned in this Thread.
Hi, sorry i was not clear.
All i need is the user to publish only his own posts. I do not need the user to access or edit or publish or know of other users' posts.
So: read own + edit own + publish own is the best way to describe this.
I'm afraid it is not possible. Read privilege gives access to post on front page, which in most cases should be public and available for all. Such settings still do not allow a user to manipulate not his own post in any way, he can't see an even preview of the post.
