Searching for an answer online i can see that this is a known problem for a lot of Toolset users and the answers always like: something wrong with your theme or your other plugins !!!.
So my question here is:
- If i use Number (4) as you can see on the screenshot attached nothing happened when selecting from the drop-down menu (Ajax not working)
- If i use Number (3) then i must add a Submit button and if i do add the Button it does not show on the front end and again the Ajax update not working
- If i use number (3) then i add Text search (input which i do not want and do not use) + Submit button (as you can see from the second screenshot) then everything is working fine
My theme developer said the theme does not block any Ajax call and i cleared all cash and disabled the rest of the plugin from my site plus tested the page on 3 different browsers but still did not work.
Thanks for reporting this. The content of your filter editor shouldn't look like that, and I think you have stumbled across an unrelated bug which I would like to track down.
Can I get a copy of your site to see your set up and where this content has been generated? I need to know the name of the View your screenshots relate to.
I will mark your next reply as private so that I can get log-in credentials from you—you may want to create a temporary admin user for me to use that you can later delete. And be sure to have a current backup of your site, even though I don't intend to make any changes other than to temporarily add a backup plugin to take a snapshot of the site.
Depending on what I find I may be able to directly resolve your problem.
I deleted the old one and created a new one so i can see what i am doing wrong but the problem keeps getting worse.
here what i did:
I went to Toolset > View > Add New
Then i created one called "AFA News Archive"
After that, i went to pages then insert the shortcode, but now nothing shows up.
Also, i do not understand the differences between the 2 filters we have (look at the screenshots attached).
If i create a filter using the Query Filter why it does not show up in the filter Editor? or is it something else!!!!
I just looked at your site and fixed the issue with that particular View.
It arises from the bug I mentioned earlier, where the contents of the filter editor do not look as expected when inserting your filters. Some of the shortcodes have been wrapped with curly braces {} instead of square brackets, and that is what has broken the functionality.
On the surface it does not appear to be the same issue, but it is, and the patch should resolve the problem.
Please follow the steps described there. Then when you create a new View and insert filters they should be added correctly.
If you find they are not then let me know straight away.
It looks like this is your first experience using Toolset to create custom searches. I'm sure it has been very frustrating trying to understand how to use Toolset when confronted with this bug, and I'm really sorry that means you getting off to a bad start with it, the timing is very unfortunate.
If you have any more problems don't hesitate to ask here in the forums.
