[Resolved] Add cell-style visual layout engine for within loops

The Toolset Community Forum is closed, for technical support questions, please head on to our Toolset Professional Support (for paid clients), with any pre-sale or admin question please contact us here.

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
I'm looking for a way to place fields in columns within those instances.
Solution:
You can use page builders like Visual Composer, Beaver Builder, Divi builder etc in Content Template section of the Views, from where we can add columns visually using page builders, just for info. But yeah there is no native way within Toolset itself.

So I have now submitted this idea as a feature request to our team for further consideration.

I don't know how feasible this is, but...

I'd love to see a way to visually create multi-column layouts *within* loops -- for example, on archive pages.

Details are in the discussion at https://toolset.com/forums/topic/need-help-building-a-multi-column-archive/. Good luck!

Number of columns.png

Hi Tom,

Thank you for contacting Toolset support. In the Loop Wizard we have an option to select number of columns, you are probably aware of this -- screenshot attached.

I believe you would like to request to have a more robust and visual page builder style rows / column interface, like our Layouts page builder, Visual Composer page builder, etc. If that is the case please let me know and I would be more than happy to forward this as a feature request to our development team?

Thank you

Hi, Norman -- thanks for the fast response. Yes, I'm aware of the Loop Wizard's option for columns. The difference (which you probably already understand) is that those columns only wrap complete instances of items in the View. I'm looking for a way to place fields in columns within those instances.

Please do forward it as a feature request to the development team, and feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks!

If I am getting it correctly, you would like to perhaps add columns for each single-item within the loop? If yes, then we can use page builders like Visual Composer, Beaver Builder, Divi builder etc in Content Template section of the Views, from where we can add columns visually using page builders, just for info. But yeah there is no native way within Toolset itself.

So I have now submitted this idea as a feature request to our team for further consideration. We appreciate the time you have taken to provide this feedback.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Thanks for the ideas! I'm fairly new to WordPress, so I haven't had a chance to try out the various visual builders. I'm actually hoping that I can do all I want with Toolset and a modicum of CSS.

(I was quite active in Drupal for a while -- see hidden link. In fact, my main project now is moving that site to WordPress!)
