I just upgraded my plugins and Access triggers a fatal error:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home8/contemy4/public_html/wp-content/plugins/types-access/includes/Helper.php on line 2419

can you help me sort this out?

Thanks

-Matthew

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

1)
Could you please try to update Access plugin manually to this version and try to resolve your issue. You can download the latest Access plugin from:
=> https://toolset.com/account/downloads/

*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***
Please try to follow following steps:
=============================
• Deactivate the Access plugin
• Login via FTP to your wp-content/plugins folder
• Delete the Access plugin folder
• Go to https://toolset.com/account/downloads/ and download the latest stable Access Plugin, then extract it.
• Upload the plugin via FTP to the wp-content/plugins folder.
⌥ alternatively you could upload the .zip file using Dashboard > Plugins > New > Upload

2)
if your issue still persist:
Could you please try to resolve your issue by deactivating all third-party plugins as well as with the default theme to check for any possible conflicts with any of the plugins or themes?

I just made a local version of the site and activated the plugin and it worked fine. The only difference I can see is that my local site is PHP version 5.5.26 whereas the shared hosting PHP version is 5.2.17.

Could you please update WordPress to its latest official released version 4.4 as well as update PHP and MySQL as WordPress it self says that minimum PHP version is required is version 5.6 or greater.
