I am trying to: understand how Layouts, Views and Content templates fit together. What I want to do is create a number of "topic" pages, each with things like a list of topic posts, facebook and twitter feeds, RSS feeds, event listings. Each topic page will have the same basic framework but use different categories for posts, events and different facebook and twitter feeds but if possible I don't want to build ecah one from scratch.

This is where I start to fail to understand Views and Content templates. Can I create a view for, say, events listings and then create multiple content templates and apply these to each different vies in each page? I want to avoid coding multiple pages but be able to change all of the views' formatting for example at once if I decide to change, say, how the event listing looks.

I visited this URL:

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

We have detailed documentation that will explain you the difference between views and content template:
=> https://toolset.com/faq/whats-the-difference-between-a-view-and-a-view-template/

Layouts is just like a page builder using which you can structure and build your page using different cell types.

It will be good if you can explain me your structure how you want to display your with with what content, few screenshots will be helpful to understand the your page structure.
