Topic Tag: Setting up custom taxonomy

Problem:
I need to use Taxonomies created with Types with a 3rd party API.
But when I use my own Custom Functions with that API, it throws me errors like

invalid taxonomy

What can be the cause?

Solution:
The cause can be that Types is not initialized at the moment your 3rd party API fires.
You can therefore try to fire Types earlier.
This is done by a Custom Code.
1. Create a Custom Function to return the priority of the Types Taxonomy you wish.

==> The Function has to return an integer like 5 (right now Types uses priority 10).

2. Apply the below action/filter (that changes priority to the new returned one) to your new custom function described above.

add_action( 'init', 'wpcf_init_custom_types_taxonomies', apply_filters('wpcf_init_custom_types_taxonomies', 10));

3. Continue use the function the you use now for your Plugin/API
