Views is a WordPress plugin that lets you display post relationships.
In our user guides, you can find more information on how to display child posts, related posts, brother pages, fields of parents and fields of grandparents.
When you ask for help or report issues, make sure to tell us the type of the relationship you are trying to build and the structure of your data.

Problem:
Get the parent post information in Views parameter search result:
there's a list of events. Each event has a hundred or so child posts. The user should be able to click from an Event List (view of event posts) to an individual event page -- OR -- from the event list, click to a paginated list of child posts (NOT on the same page as the parent).
I've been able to do that with a query string, which leads to a URL like the following where equipment-list is the generic page for displaying the children using a view:
site.com/equipment-list/?wpv-pr-child-of=888 Solution:
In the URL :
site.com/equipment-list/?wpv-pr-child-of=888
There is a URL parameter "wpv-pr-child-of", which should be the parent "event" post ID,
You can display it with Views shortcode [wpv-search-term], for example:
[wpv-search-term param="wpv-pr-child-of"] https://toolset.com/documentation/views-shortcodes/#wpv-search-term
If you need to setup a link to redirect to the parent "event", you can add it into Views shortcode as ID attribute, for example:
[wpv-post-link id='[wpv-search-term param="wpv-pr-child-of"]'] Relevant Documentation: https://toolset.com/documentation/views-shortcodes/#wpv-search-term
Problem:
How can I automatically make a Post Child of a certain parent with CRED?
Solution:
You use CRED Create child Post Link.
This link is inserted with the GUI of CRED into any Parent Post.
Then, when you click on it, the Parent Picker (belongs to field) of CRED will automatically set the post to belong to the Parent where you inserted the Link.
