Hello,
is it possible to create with wptypes a hidden field for a custom type? It should automatically add a post number, in my case it is a project number.

So I have a custom type "Project", a form generated with CRED and I would like to automatically generate a project number that increase every time the user add new project.

I would appreciate every help with my issue.
Kind regards,
Michael

Dear Michael,

Yes, it's certainly possible. You can simply add any type of field to your post to hold the project number (unless you can just stick with the post ID which is also unique? - this just simplifies things enormously!).

In CRED you can use a feature called generic fields which you can then handle with some simple custom PHP. Here are two doc pages to help you tackle this:
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/inserting-generic-fields-into-forms/
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/cred-api/#csd

Please let me know if you are satisfied with my answer and if I can help you with any other questions you might have.

Regards,
Paweł
