I am trying to: Install Views 2.5-b3 and Layouts 2.1-b4

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: marksgardens.ca

Hi Noman - I hope this gives you the access you need regarding the betas for Views and Layouts on my site.

I'm using this site to test Toolset and GP integration. I don't have much content on my site right now. I want to wait until these plugin issues are worked out.

The "Plants" layouts are incomplete and can be deleted if needed. I don't care about them. I can make new ones later.

Hi Mark,

Thabnk you for providing the access credentials.
I've already closed my day and I will handle your request once I start tomorrow.

Thanks.

A reminder to myself, this ticket is originally from this one: https://toolset.com/forums/topic/issues-between-generatepress-and-toolset-integration/

And Mark has an issue that he is getting 5oo errors:
"I deleted the Views 2.4.1, and Layouts 2.0.3. Then installed Views 2.5-b3 and Layouts 2.1-b4. Both these betas installed and this time they activated. But, when I tried to work with a template and a layout I got "500 errors" and was not able to go any further. Here is the debug info:"

Hi Mark,

I logged into your website and checked your files. I see you are using the latest stable Toolset plugins.

I need to test the issue on my localhost. So, I will use the duplicator package you've provided to work on it.

Please wait and I will gte back to ASAP.

Thanks.

Edit layout ‹ Mark's Gardens — WordPress - Mozilla Firefox 2017-09-29 13.47.42.png

Hi Mark,

I've downloaded your duplicator package and installed it on my localhost.
I've installed the Beta versions of Layouts and Views. The Layouts edit page loads normally and I'm able to see the theme options loaded in the Layout edit page.
I'm also able to see the Plants frontend pages loading normally.

I think I misunderstood something.
Could you please guide me to your issue. how it happens and in which pages.

You may also activate the Beta plugins on your website so that I can see the issue.

I'm waiting for your reply.

Thanks.

Hi Mohammed

I can install and activate the Views and Layouts betas, but when I create a layout I get the 500 error message. Try creating a layout on your localhost.

Note - I tried installing the betas again, including the Types beta, but ran into the same problem. So I re-installed the stable versions. If you look on my plugins page again, you'll see the stable version with a notice to update to the new betas.

Hi Mark,

I've updated Layouts and views to the Betas versions and enabled the debug mode to see the error myself.

This is the error I got: Fatal error: Arrays are not allowed in class constants in ../wp-content/plugins/layouts/vendor/toolset/toolset-theme-settings/compatibility-modules/controllers/toolset-theme-integration-settings-abstract-controller.php on line 5

What happens here is that, you have an old PHP version installed in your website probably less than 5.6

Please check this announcement php.net announcement here: enlace oculto
(5.6 onwards, it is possible to define a constant as a scalar expression, and it is also possible to define an array constant.)

So, please sak your service provider to upgrade the PHP version to fix this issue.

Thanks.

#574917

Thanks. I have submitted a ticket to my ISP for an upgrade.

#574978

Hi Mark,

I'm posting here again just to change the ticket status. I hope that they upgrade the PHP version.

Thanks.

#575062

Hi Mohammed

I upgraded my version of PHP to 5.6.24 and everything seems to be working well. Thanks for the recommendation. I apologize for not doing this sooner when Noman told me the same thing.

I'm using Types version 2.2.16. There is a beta for Types that I haven't installed, 2.3-b1. Do I need it to go along with the Views and Layouts betas?

#575393

Hi Mark,

It's great to hear that your issue is fixed now.

About Types, this is a beta only for testing purpose and to get your feedback about the newly added features in the plugin especially the many to many relationships added recently in this version.

For you, you will need a fresh WordPress install and only Types installed in a website to test this types version.
No need for Views nor Layouts and I don't recommend you to install them along with Typers beta.

Thanks.

#575428

Thanks Mohammed. I'll just stick with the Views and Layouts betas.
