The reason why this could not be working is because of the recent update to wordpress. What you need to do is install our latest views beta.

The beta should resolve most of the issues that users are currently experiencing with our shortcodes.

I am still not able to get the user account page working. After I create a new user via the registration form, it goes to a page with no content, Example:

Looks like from the Users page they weren't assigned a role either.

The reason why the page had no content is that the view to display the user's profile information wasn't set to display anything at all.

If you go to the page here

You will see that it will now output the username.

I see, you added [wpv-user field="user_login"]
to that View's loop.

OK so then do I even need an archive page like hidden link
(which still asks for a layout) after a user registers, or shall I just assume they are gioing to go to, or send them to, hidden link ?

Also, they should be automatically assigned a role, like Subscribe I suppose. I'm not sure yet what role will be appropriate yet (Subscriber perhaps), but seems like they will need *something* to start with.

What you need to do is to set the form to redirect the new users to their account page when they log in by setting it on the form

Just set the page for them to go to as .

Ah I see, up under Form Settings/Basic settings.
OK I've done that, choosing Go To page - User Account, which it does.
And I also selected "Select allowed User Role: Subscriber"
But if I'm logged out and create a new user, the hidden link
page says "No items found"
Also, it's still not creating a role for the new user. It still says "None". I thought it would log them in automatitcally?

Hi Eric,

I believe the user will need to be logged in manually since they aren't automatically logged in after the account has been created.

Our form doesn't support log in so the user will need to use the default log in for wordpress.

If the user visits the account page and they are not logged in they will get the no user found message.

You can change this by editing the view to say "Cannot display profile of logged out user".

As far as logging in, in an earlier message I thought you mentioned that it's possible to use a third-party plugin for logging in?

I just checked on this and the form does not automatically log in the user.

The user will need to manually log in.

One plugin that you can use is https://wordpress.org/plugins/theme-my-login/

Continuing with User Account page,

1. I am a little unclear on the Nickname vs. Display name – I see I can have field fields for them in the loop output of the view:

<strong>Nickname:</strong>[wpv-user field="nickname"]<br /><br />
          <strong> Display Name:</strong> [wpv-user field="display_name"] 

but in the CRED form it looks like one can input nickname but not display name

[cred_field field="nickname" post="user" value="" urlparam=""]

So is a Display name something one has to change via the backend after it's created?
Also, do you know why I have multiple display names I can choose from when I edit my user Profile via WordPress?

2. Can you tell me if there is a way to input and display and change an avatar, and also display and edit the user's password, like in our mockup:

Ever since installing Them My Login, I can't login via hidden link
even after de-activating the plugin. I can go to wp-admin OK.
Help! Any ideas?

Hi Eric,

The reason for this is that the Theme my login plugin overwrites the default wordpress login process.

That is why it's not allowing you to use the default login page.

I figured that, but why does it say "ERROR: The password you entered for the username ultramodern is incorrect. Lost your password?"
this is even after deactivating the plugin.
what page do I use with Toolset for the login - I was going to apply a layout? The plugin's FAQ says to use /wp-login.php.

Hi Eric,

It could be that the password has been entered incorrectly.

Also Toolset is not able to do a log in and Theme My Login overrides the default login. Meaning it will use the wp-login.php page to do the log in.

Theme My Login does not have an option to change this.

If theme my login does not allow you to achieve what you when.

There are other plugins out there that can do log in as well see the link below.
