Types field validation not applied when editing posts with blocks

Symptoms

When editing posts with the classic editor, if a required Types field is missing or a field value is invalid (e.g. a numeric field contains text) the post cannot be saved and error messages are shown.

When editing posts with the block editor this is not working, the validation isn’t applied so that the post is saved without errors displayed, although the custom field values are discarded.

The problem occurs with all Types versions and appears to have been introduced by an update to WordPress.

The developers are working on a fix.
