I am trying to:
Set the Product Archive Template File back to my child theme file. But instead, it reverts back to Woocommerce plugin template.

I expected to see:
Woocommerce templates using child theme overrides.
/home/website/public_html/wp-content/themes/childtheme/woocommerce/archive-product.php

Instead, I got:
Set to /home/website/public_html/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/templates/archive-product.php

Hi Paul,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

Could you try structuring the directory name as how woocommerce have it ? You're missing the templates folder.

Try this and let me know.

Thanks,
Shane

Sorry Shame that is not the way woocommerce works.

Woocommerce overrides inside a child theme follow this structure. Moving files into a /template/ folder makes everything not work. Per WooCommerce documentation.

My issue still stands.

Thank you

Hi Paul,

Are you trying to set this in out Woocommerce view plugin ?

Will you be modifying the template file itself in the child theme ?

Please let me know so that I can better advise on this one.

Thanks,
Shane

Toolset plugin is forcing me to edit directly to the woocommerce plugin files. This is wrong. I should be able to override WooCommerce templates via child theme. Toolset is not allowing this.

Hi Paul,

You are actually not overwriting the template file itself.

All you're doing is selecting a woocommerce template that views will hook into. This won't make any changes to the template file itself.

Is it that you're worried about losing changes when woocommerce updates?

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Shane

I want child theme overrides to work as intended. Please help me fix this. Do you need login details?

Hi Paul,

Before I go into further details with this.

Is it that you are going to make edits to the archive-product.php file itself ?

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Shane
