I am trying to have a custom field on a product page. This is just a text field. The store owner will fill it in with a word. Then on the front end product page, I would like to show an input field where the user types in something and if it matches up with the backend, it shows some content. If it doesn't, it would show a message like an error.

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Well - basically there is no such feature available to implement such functionality until you add some custom javascript or jQuery code where you should store the custom field value with hidden field on frontend and based on the content user input on frontend field you should display it accordingly.
