I found out that I will not need some custom fields anymore. As I used theses fields in many posts I would like to know: how can I delete the data form these custom fields?
Does this happen automatically when I delete the custom fields itself? Or do the data still is in the database when I delete the custom fields? Are there other ways to delete the data?
Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.
-- I would like to know: how can I delete the data form these custom fields?
- Does this happen automatically when I delete the custom fields itself?
NO
- Or do the data still is in the database when I delete the custom fields?
Yes
- Are there other ways to delete the data?
No
So, to delete such unwanted custom field content, you need to write your own custom query which should run on postmeta table (as custom field content stored in postmeta table) and it should delete the custom field content for only those posts where you want to delete it.
Well, I still have to figure out how to remove data - a custom function is not my way as Toolset "promises" to keep coding away from its user - and as a "delete some data in the database" can make a lot of trouble if it is not done right...
